Back to blogging…..
Well I have one again seemed to have got side tracked… It has been forever since I have written on this blog. One of my excuses is I keep looking for a theme that I like and that is easy to work with. I have very little technical knowledge and it really holds me back.
I have had several projects going lately. The one that has just kicked my butt is getting a squeeze page set up and going so that I can get a subscribers list. I gave up on getresponse and signed up with Aweber. Now I see why everybody recommends it! It is really so much easier. I have my free ebook by Jimmy D Brown to give away as my gift.
My other project is getting my own product to promote. With limited time, that is going kinda slow, but I am still working on it. Cindi Parker with Internet Marketing Dreams has really encouraged me to do this. It is really cool because she only lives about an hour away, and I was able to meet her and we have talked several times on the phone. This has helped me not not give up.
Ok, I am back to working on getting my product finished. The weekends seem to go so fast and I want this to be one to be productive!

What Hearing Another Internet Marketer Did For Me Today
I seem to go two steps forward, then one step back in this online journey of mine. One of the things that hinders me is starting too many things at one time, and finishing nothing….
First it was my website, then I started this blog, then I purchased several products from other internet marketers(and I do not know what to do with them to make money). I even purchased a couple of niche websites that have to be uploaded to my host( I think) and have not finished that. I tried to make a squeeze page…..no I did not finish that either.
I get started, read something else, get sidetracked and the next thing I know it is way past my bedtime and I am seeing crosseyed!
Lynn Terry is really such a help with her SSWT forum, as well as her marketing blog. I was able to listen in on her webinar today and felt like she said out loud a lot of the things I have been telling myself. One of the things she talked about today, was really getting yourself motivated and consumed with your goal. Just that one thing I heard today, I was able to get motivated enough to post on this blog! Yea Jean!
Lynn also talked about getting focused. That is my main problem right now. First Things First is a slogan I learned many years ago and I not been applying it lately. I am actually proud of myself tonight though, because after work, I sat down at this computer and gave myself a time limit to read other blogs and read at some forums. With just changing that one little habit tonight, I was able to have more time to do some things that will help me to move along in this journey of mine. I worked on writing an article to submit to a directory tonight and that will be a plus.
NOW if I can just remember what I heard today…get motivated, get consumed with my goal, see myself there. Breathe it, think it, stay on track, and the big one for me, STAY FOCUSED!
With that, I am going to call it a night!
Affiliate marketing, what is the key to success?
I am still learning more and more each day about what it takes to succeed in the affiliate marketing business. As I think of this, it is necessary in any business or anything in life that I really want. I must have patience and perserverance. I need to remember these two things at all times.
I have had plenty of opportunities lately to practice patience. While reading forums, I saw that other people said changing themes in wordpress was a very simple task. Well it certainly was not for me…..but I showed patience and perseverance by going to the forum and asking for help, and then going back when I still could not get it to work. Once I found that I had downloaded my theme in the wrong folder, getting it moved to the correct place caused me grief but once again, I hung in there. What other people were saying about changing themes was in fact easy, had I just paid more attention in the beginning when I started as to where I downloaded the theme to start with. It was a lesson that I think will help me next time!
This has been the one thing in my life lately that I am determined to succeed in. It has taken months to get my website ready. I have not let this stop me…..perseverance!
I have got to get organized!
Wow, I am about to drive myself crazy! I have signed up with Hostgator, started a blog (uploaded Wordpress form there), been able to get to my blog today, but that is about it. I am so unorganized……I have so much I am trying to do, and not being organized, I am getting a lot of nothing done….I had started a blog a few weeks ago and saw a lot of post about how much better Wordpress is. After I got my wordpress blog up, I was able to import my post from Blogger. I downloaded a theme I like, but cannot figure out what to do to change my theme. I have watched youtube videos, read instructions, and just cannot get anywhere. One time when I try to sign in Wordpress it lets me just fine, then later I try and it says invalid password…This has not been a very productive day. I know most of it is because of my lack of organization.
I even signed up as an affiliate for a program today(one of the times when I was sidetracked) and wanted to put an ad on my new site……I cannot figure out how to do that either. I am going to make a first things first list, and the first thing on my list is going to be to GET ORGANIZED!
Staying focused on affiliate marketing
It has been a few days since I have taken the time to write on this blog. It is so hard for me to stay focused on one thing. Affiliate marketing is my main focus. That is what caught my interest when I first started doing research on Work From Home ideas. My website is getting very close to being finished and ready to advertise. I just have so much to learn and I get sidetracked very easily here lately!
How important is a mentor in Affiliate Marketing?
I have been reading a lot about the Leaders Club. I receive the weekly newsletter from them and have learned a lot from it. Affiliate Marketing, Working from Home, Earning money with Blogs, whatever it is, without knowing exactly what to do,where to begin, what to do next and so on can be a big waste of time. Fortunately the TOPS program has a wonderful forum with people that really help, as well as excellant training. SFI has a very informative website with resources of all types too, but without action, no money will be made! Mentors, leaders whatever you decide to call them are there to guide you especially if you are a newbie, which I am. Sometimes a little encouragement and guidance one on one might just what it takes to get the ball rolling…….
Affiliate marketing and blogging?
Everywhere I look I am finding something about blogs, blogging, making money with your blogs. Wow I thought affiliate marketing was an inexpensive way to get started making money online, but for sure so is blogging. There is a PayPerPost website that is easy to sign up for and get paid for each blog that you submit. Now if I can figure out how to get started at that, why not?? I first saw this on Lynn Terry’s website. She has so much information on her site, whether you are a beginner just wanting to learn about internet marketing(selling your own products) or affiliate marketing. I was shocked to see some of the amounts that some bloggers have made. I just have got to really work on focusing on what I am doing. I wish that I was a sponge and could just soak up all of the information that is out there and so freely shared. First things First, that is what I need to do! I am working on getting my website for the Tops program up and going where I can start to advertise and make money on that. After that, who knows maybe I can find a niche to blog about that would qualify for the PayPerPost, just today Jean!
The best program online
I was just thinking about all I have read and researched, downloaded, ordered etc on this affiliate marketing journey of mine, and thinking about the best program to join. It is without a doubt TOPS Online Profits. Erich Winnecke is very sucessful online and is so very generous to share his knowledge to the people that join his program. He does not advertise that he is going to make you rich in a week, just tells you like it is. IF you have a desire and are willing to follow the program he offers, being a successful work from home mom, dad, nanny or anything else it possible. When I put Work From Home in the search box, I saw his name on more than one occasion, and the more I read about him it made my decision easier as to where to start. He has been on the top at SFI another program that I signed up for several months before I decided to get serious about earning money from my home computer. It is indeed an excellant program to, especially the fact that you can start without pulling out your credit card and if you are willing to put some time into the free advertising methods that are out there, you can actually make money. When I joined TOPS, SFI was one of the affiliates that Erich has in his program to start so I was a little ahead of the game!When I look at the main reason I joined TOPS is the support, honesty, and integrity of the members of the forum. It is unreal to think there are so many knowledgeable people out there so willing to help someone they do not even know become a success! I feel so thankful. Take a look! TOPS
Affiliate Marketing, help from real people!
Another day in my journey in affiliate marketing! I am what I consider a newbie to this, affiliate marketing, working from home and blogging. One of the things that helps me the most to continue to learn is finding real people online that are willing to help by sharing their knowledge. Lynn Terry and her Self Starters Weekly Tips forum is one of those people. I find a lot of hope reading on her forum. I subscribed to her weekly tips newsletter. She is where I someday want to be, working from home! My website is getting closer and closer to being up and going and I am excited about. I can’t wait to be able to put my link to it on here!
Affiliate programs that are free to start!
Well here I am again, this is actually the third time I have been on here to write. The second page I wrote disapeared and I was never able to get it back…..I am learning!
I was thinking about when I first put the words in the search box “Work From Home”. I had no idea there would be so many pages listed. I had signed up for a Data Entry From Home site and sent the recommended $20.00 by Paypal only to receive the same thing that I had read on the internet, and I am supposed to put ads out to sell this info for $20.00 and that is how I would make money…no way, this was a joke. I waited a few days to contact the person that sent me the “knowledge” only to find out this was no longer a good email address. Ok I need to be careful now and get away from the scams..
Millions are making money from their home computer and you can too! I keep finding this same ad over and over. This looked much more official than my first try. But can I really start anything FREE?? Yes I found out I could! This was actually a real and legitimate company that offers training, resources, FREE websites and FREE to start. I joined this company, started putting some ads out on some free ad forums and I actually got a check the second month! $14.37 was a start! Especially for not spending any money, just using a little of the time that I played on the computer doing nothing, I was now looking for free advertising sites and placing ads. After reading the bullentin board and for this company and seeing that these were real people and they had written some good ideas for me to try, I was getting more and more excited! Now I have earned a total of about $88.00 but this is just the start. There ARE affiliate programs that are free to start, and yes you can earn money.
I am stopping here, just in case I lose this blog too!
